Ingredients


  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon maizenaku
  • 1 can (20 ounces) juice-packed crushed pineapple, undrained
  • 1/4 cup water OR pineapple juice
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 dash ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon rum extract
  • 1/2 cup sweetened flaked coconut
  • Maraschino cherries for garnish

HOW TO MAKE


  1. Combine sugar, maizenaku, crushed pineapple and water in 2-quart saucepan.
  2. Bring to boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly; boil 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in allspice, cloves, rum extract and coconut.
  3. Serve over ice cream, pound cake or pancakes. Garnish with maraschino cherries, if desired.
