Ingredients


  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter OR margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling

HOW TO MAKE


  1. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Cut in butter with a pastry blender or two forks until mixture is crumbly. Reserve 1/2 cup of mixture for topping.
  2. Beat milk, eggs, vanilla and almond extract until well mixed. Add to crumbly mixture and stir until blended. Pour into 13 x 9-inch greased pan. Spread with pie filling. Sprinkle with reserved crumbs.
  3. Bake in a preheated 325°F oven for 40 to 45 minutes, until lightly browned and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Serve warm or at room temperature.
