Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup butter OR margarine
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seed
  • 1 teaspoon whole white sesame seed

HOW TO MAKE

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a large mixing bowl. Cut in butter using a pastry blender or two knives, until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Add cheese and mix well. Stir in milk, mixing until dry ingredients are moistened.
  3. Pat dough out on a lightly floured surface to a 6-inch square. Cut into 3 x 2-inch recatangular biscuits using a sharp knife, and place on ungreased baking sheet.
  4. Bake in center of oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until bottoms are lightly browned.
